John Howell is the senior consultant for Howell Consulting Services, Inc. Mr. Howell has over 35 years experience in the woodworking industry. Having started as a hands-on woodworker in the shop, he has worked his way up through shop management, CAD drafting, CNC programming, integrated 3D modeling, project management, and extensive research and development in green technology. A large part of John Howell's research into green technology was to explore the woodworker's role in LEED projects. He studied LEED concepts thoroughly and became a LEED®Accredited Professional. Subsequently, he's given seminars to woodworkers to show them how to not only comply with the design team on a LEED project but to help the team achieve their goals. Working with associates, he also researched how woodworking shops can become more energy efficient and how they can improve their impact on the health of the employees and their impact on the environment. Mr. Howell has applied this knowledge to high end architectural millwork and custom furniture shops.
